Jaala Frankcombe was awarded the Group Training Trainee/Apprentice of the Year Award at LINK Employment & Training's 2006 Corporate Graduation on Friday, 14th July, 2006.
Jaala completed her VCE in 2004 at Pakenham Secondary College. While at school Jaala was employed on a casual basis at the local Safeway store as a checkout operator. Jaala's career plan was to finish school, go to University and become a nurse. She decided to take a year off and saw a job ad in the paper for an Office Administration Traineeship with LINK Employment & Training. Jaala was successful in getting the position and started work at Cardinia Shire Council.
During her Traineeship Jaala competed in the Worldskills competion and finished in the top ten for metropolitan Melbourne. Jaala's skills and knowledge have increased during her traineeship, as has her confidence. Jaala is now in a full time position with the Cardinia Shire Council as a Customer Service Officer. |
